Hamilton is the largest city in the Waikato region of New Zealands North Island. The city encompasses a land area of about 110 sq km on the banks of the Waikato River, and is home to more than 153,000 people, which makes it New Zealand's fourth biggest city overall. Hamilton City is part of the wider Hamilton Urban Area, which also includes the nearby towns of Ngaruawahia, Te Awamutu and Cambridge.
Hamilton already has a population of 153,000, making it the 4th biggest city in NZ, but that number is growing rapidly, with the city being the 3rd fastest growing region in NZ, behind only Auckland and Pukekohe. This rapid population growth, is driving a strong real estate market that shpws no sign of easing any time soon. With an average house price in the mid to high $300k's, Hamilton is still and affordable place to live.
